Lottery System

The main objective of this new hiring approach is to revamp the RA selection process to minimize bias and combat inequitable hiring practices.

We understand that performing well during interviews does not mean folks will be the best RAs. We also know many may only apply if they feel ready to engage in an interview process. For this purpose, we have removed the interview portion of the process.

We hope that traditional hiring practices will not be limitations for hopeful students to consider joining our dynamic team.

Upon receiving an application, we will remove identifiable information (name, perm, etc.), to limit bias and the impact of hiring based on who we know.

From here, we will review and score every application to determine which candidates will be considered for the lottery. Those who receive scores meeting our requirements are deemed ready to be RAs. Unfortunately, we do not have enough positions to hire every great candidate, so the lottery comes in here.

Candidates who are considered for the lottery will either be offered a position or an alternate status. If someone offered the job does not accept it, we will look at our alternate pool and make additional offers. It is important for those with alternate offers to “accept” their alternate status so that we can keep you in mind for consideration.

Information Session Schedule

Please attend 1 of these information sessions to be able to apply.
Attendance will be taken to ensure eligibility. Attendance at more than one session WILL NOT increase your chances.
